It all started in Istanbul. I was born in 1974 and lived there until 1992. Istanbul is an amazing city and I was lucky to be born there and I was lucky to have lived there for so long and so well.
I moved to the US for college in 1992. I attended Duke University and earned a BA in Economics in 1996 and also completed minors in Political Science and Computer Science. Then I moved to Texas. I graduated in 1998 with a MA in Information Science from University of Texas at Austin. During grad student years I started working as a research assistant and after graduation I got my first job as a programmer at Top Drawer Productions, an Austin Texas based educational multimedia studio.
TDP was a great company but it was the end of 1990s and acquisitions were all the rage. At the beginning of 2000, TDP got acquired by Human Code, another Austin based company.
